Ronald McDonald House’s Character Breakfast — a must do in Winston-Salem

For the last few years, we have had the pleasure of attending Winston-Salem’s Ronald McDonald House’s Character Breakfast.  Last year my mother-in-law took Rand, so I was excited that this year I was going to be able to take him to this fabulous event.

The Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem came into light thanks to Dick and Penney Latham as the Rainbow House, in honor of their son, Alan who passed away.   In 1984 it became a Ronald McDonald House.  It is a  place for families to stay when they are far away from home (outside of Forsyth County) and have a child at Brenner Children’s Hospital.  They also have two rooms at the hospitals (Brenner and Forsyth Medical Center ).   The money raised at this breakfast ensure that families can continue to stay at the house for little to no cost.

The breakfast was so much fun and the money raised goes to a superb cause.

The Ronald McDonald House is an organization that I have had the privilege to volunteer with and is very close to my heart.  The support they give the families is amazing, a place to go where they can find respite from the hospital.  If you would like to make a donation to the Ronald McDonald House click here.
