Winston-Salem Style … Liz Vaughn

Posted by on October 3, 2013

I got to know Liz Vaughn when our sons became friends and she is always amazing me with her style. She is wife to Stuart, mom to little Stuart and Alex.  Liz is the Strategic Marketing and Community Engagement Consultant with First Tennessee Bank.  Always with a keen sense of detail and willing to take a risk, Liz has a fabulous sense of personal style.  I was thrilled when she agreed to be on the blog!

D :What is your go-to outfit right now:
LV: A Gilchrist J McLaughlin dress. It travels well. Their signature fabric doesn’t wrinkle!
D: What is your go-to weekend outfit:
LV : A Piazza Sempione tunic and bright pink J.Crew Matchstick jeans with pumps or flats. I love Italian labels! The attributes of a well made Italian garment- silhouette,  construction and fabric lasts at least a decade in style and wear.  I wear pieces I bought when I was working in New York, so I can prove it!

D:What is your  go-to evening outfit:

LV: A black leather Julie Brown sleeveless top, Drew leggings and over-the-knee boots. I am obsessed with the look of thigh length boots with the right outfit but I’m not sure if Winston-Salem is ready for them, yet!

D: My favorite piece:
LV: A Victor Costa embroidered gown I purchased from Gazebo to wear at The America’s Cup Gala at the Marble House, in Newport Rhode Island. This dress has a story to tell from the years of balls and parties it has attended!
D: Best place to shop locally:
LV: Shops in Reynolda Village

D: Fashion icon:
LV: I get my inspiration from style icons who are legends in the industry, designers, editors, stylists and artists.

Liz I would have loved to have seen the asymmetrical bob!  Your fashion icons are way too cool! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to answer my questions!!
