Anna Warburton is a friend of mine who I love to catch up with our special dinners. Always insightful and extremely smart she and I can chat about anything and everything. Anna is an associate attorney with Davis Harwell and Biggs. She dates the delightful John Munroe and volunteers in many organizations including the Junior League of Winston-Salem. Anna was kind enough to take time out of her busy day to answer the Winston-Salem Style questions.
DTWS: What is your go-to outfit right now
AEW: Since I have to spend my work days dressed in stuffy suits, in my free time my go-to outfit is casual and comfy. My outfit of choice these days is leggings, boots, and a cute top or sweater. Who doesn’t love elastic waist bands! I am always so ready for fall and boot weather by the end of summer and without fail I have lived in my boots this winter. Also, let’s be honest – most of my Saturdays are spent in exercise clothes (and not necessarily because I have exercised). I have a Lululemon base runner top I have been living in!
DTWS: What is your favorite piece in your wardrobe:?
AEW: My great Aunt Lib gave me a gold bracelet that I just adore. I wear it with everything from the everyday to when I am dressed up. Classic pieces of jewelry are so versatile and can be worn so many different ways. I wear it alone and also with gold bangles a special someone gave me.
DTWS: What is your favorite local place to shop?
AEW: Monkee’s for something fun and special, TJ Maxx to browse and hopefully snake a good find, and The Loft and Old Navy for cute spins on the staples. I also love “shopping” in my sisters’ closets! My sisters are way trendier than I am so I love seeing what they have hanging around in their closets!
DTWS: Who is your fashion icon?
AEW: Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Onassis. Both ladies have been style icons for multiple generations and will be for many generations to come. They were classy and elegant and were able to pull off any outfit with style and grace, but also knew what looked best on them.
DTWS: What is your craziest trend you ever rocked?
AEW: Unfortunately, there were many bad trends but I was never that crazy. I am sure I am not alone but my go to outfit in middle school was my sausage rolled jeans and sabagos with curled laces! In high school I loved my Doc Martins and also wore overalls – it is so embarrassing to think basck on some of the things we wore! I look back on what we wore and look at what the kids today wear and it is night and day!
