I’ll admit it, I love the world wide web. I love blogs, tweeting, all forms of social media. That all being said, I love newspapers, books, and magazines. I love to touch the paper, flip through the pages, and stuff them into my beach bag. Soo I held out when I heard about online mags. Not just the online versions of magazines we all know well, brand new magazines, that started off on the web. Here are three of my favorites. All are must reads.
Matchbook Magazine founded by Katie Armour and Jane Lilly Warren in 2011 the online magazine comes out monthly covering topics including fashion, decor, arts, travel, and culture. There are articles about the best ten table lamps currently to the ways to style a shift dress for the fall. All interesting and a fun lifestyle magazine for a girl who wants to be in the know. On their website is daily content in addition to the magazine. There is also a great feature under the Toolbox tab with checklists for every situation. Such a fun website and magazine I look forward to the magazine hitting my inbox each month.
Edgier than Matchbook but still a fabulous read, Rue Magazine is always bringing cutting edge design to my screen bi-monthly and the website has a daily features. Rue began in 2010 by Crystal Paleck who brings a thoughtful look at different lifestyle topics. She just got married and the wedding issue a few months ago was unique and brought ideas to the pages that I had never seen.
This issue has an article featuring Aiala Hernando who is a food stylist. She gives great tips on how to style your food for a party. Always interesting and colorful you’ll look forward to virtually flipping through the pages of Rue.
The third magazine I want to feature is Lonny. The July/August issue is the travel issue and from the pictures, to the ideas of what to bring on vacation, books to read, this magazine is as pretty as they come. Lonny is part of Livingly Media a three pronged online company. Launched in 2009, by Michelle Adams and Patrick Cline. It was sold in 2012 and is the oldest of the three magazines.
My favorite part about online magazines is I can click onto the pages with integrated shopping/marketing. In other words if I see a lamps that I adore, with one click I am brought to the website selling that product. It’s genius! Love a time saver. I hope you enjoy these magazines as much as I do.
