Holiday Decorating with Shelley // Thanksgiving

Posted by on November 26, 2013

Shelley has graciously allowed Dashing readers back into her home.  What a treat!  Shelley always amazes me with her creativity and decorating skills.  Thanksgiving at the Holden’s home is no exception.  She and her girls have made their home a truly Thankful place to be.  As I was talking with Shelley about how she gets all the decorating done, she reminded me she does have two fantastic helpers.  She also emphasized that she decorates with her girls in mind.  Their home is such a happy spot.

As you come through the doors the girls had arranged these
adorable Native Americans and Pilgrims

The turkeys and Happy Everything Plate is from Coton Colors

Now on to the always amazing dining room…

Shelley pointed out that she used her gorgeous gold sparkle candles along with the corn cob candles.  The way she mixes high style with kids style creates such an inviting home.

I adored this “Let Us Give Thanks” platter.

One thing that is really evident, is that the girls help with decorating.  I thought their artwork in this corner cupboard really added even more fun to all the decorations.

Shelley’s daughter Joanna has such a keen eye for decorating already at seven.  The cornucopia is her own creation.  I’m pretty sure I couldn’t get it to look this good!!  Obviously there is a gene that the Holden girls possess for decorating.  So impressive!!

The things that I took away from my time at the Holden’s today, was first the joy to get to chat with a dear friend but really this is a family affair of decorating. They all did such a great job.  It is always so much fun to see what the Holden’s have behind their front door each holiday!
Dashing – xoxo

PS –  I have to brag on Shelley… she created this adorable turkey for the 4-year-olds Thanksgiving Feast!!  Could it be any cuter???  LOVE THIS!!
