Trend for the Fall : Button Down Shirts

Posted by on July 26, 2013

I’m not going to lie, I love a button down shirt.  Not your eighties boyfriend style button down but the nice slimmed down style.  It can be nicely done, and looks smart yet sexy all at the same time.  Think of this as a small extension of the tailored s/he look that you will see everywhere this fall.

I’m excited about this trend because it is easy to go from day to night with this trend by unbuttoning one button or taking off your jacket.

Here are some of my favorite Pre-Fall looks that I found today.

First the Peter Pilotto printed button down.  This is a wild way to rock the look.  Imagine this shirt with a leather skirt and super high heels.  Fierce right?  OK so maybe you don’t want to look so fierce, try it with a great work black skirt and a pair of boots.  Still pretty fierce!!

Milly has often been a line I would run to every season to see what Michelle had designed for the season.  I adored her dresses, and then her dresses got too expensive for my taste.  So I’m thrilled to see that many of her dresses are under $400 this year.  I love this printed blouse from Milly for the fall.  Its kissing theme is such a theme we are going to continue to see from the summer printed cheeky themed prints.  Many kinda cheesy this one is done perfectly.

The next shirt is from Topshop.  This is the crispy white shirt that is a little more relaxed.  Perfect for picking up a cup of coffee on Saturday mornings in the fall.  Paired with a great pair of jeans, this will become your favorite go-to outfit.

Button down shirts are back and I couldn’t be more thrilled.  What are your thoughts?  Are you as excited to roll up your sleeves as I am?
Dashing – xoxo
