I’m always amazed with Etsy, it is one of my favorite spots to peruse and see what creative people are doing. I was looking at some amazing watercolors today (it is super rainy, so their cheery colors are making me happy!) Watercolors have always grabbed me because of the details that they have with the light medium compared to an oil or acrylic painting. Here are a few of my favs!
This is from the LivieLightyear. She has titled it, “Unique Floral Design OOAK.” The purple, red, blue, and green all mix together with loads and loads of flowers bringing a little bit of joy to a small space.
I’m not even a cat person and I love this watercolor affectionately called “Caterina.” The cat’s face looking up makes me think she is looking for a treat. Maybe not, it is a cat after all… do cat’s do tricks??? I’m not sure. Anyway, This piece made me smile, and it gets better 10% of the proceeds go to Team EFA’s Charity of the Month.
I always love personal challenges. The artist Mary Catherine Starr challenged herself to paint 100 dresses in 100 days. This is dress number three. Red has always been my favorite color so it caught my interest right away. Then the polka dots clinched it for me. Each of the dresses have such great details and it is crazy to think that she is doing one dress a day.
These are just three of hundreds of original watercolors and there are even more amazing prints. Many for really reasonable prices and a great way to support local/small artists. From art to furniture to clothing there is something for everyone on Etsy.
