Two amazing Winston-Salem Literacy Events Happening this WEEKEND!!

Hi all.  I hope you are all getting into the swing of school and/or fall.  I have to tell you about two events that I will be attending this weekend and hope to see you at as well.  B

The first is the annual Children’s Museum of Winston-Salem Storybook Soiree.  This year’s theme is Charlotte’s Web and is guaranteed to be a spidery good time.

The event will be held THIS FRIDAY NIGHT at WinMock and the food will be catered by one of my fave places to go, The Porch.  It is a not to miss event with fun dancing and auction  (you can bid for items right now before the party even starts!!).  There is still time to purchase tickets so why don’t you get your cow-girl or boy boots on and get ready for a great time, support a decade of the Children’s Museum.

After you have partied the night away on Friday, save up some energy and get yourself to the tenth annual BookMARKs Festival!

Start your day off with the Children’s Storybook Parade.

Kids of all ages are welcome to dress as a book character. Join in the parade which will include music and characters  everyone knows and loves.

Please meet at 10:45 AM at the top of the stairs above Winston Square Park to participate. Look for the banner.  This event is FREE!

Get to the festival at 10 am  and enjoy hearing from Eric Litwin who wrote, The Nuts: Bedtime at the Nut House and then stay for the parade.

There are lots and lots of authors and activities for all ages at BookMarks.   The one I’m most excited about is hearing Emily Griffin speak at 3:45.

If you are planning on heading down to BookMarks, let me know which author you are most excited to hear speak.

It’s another jam packed weekend in Winston-Salem.

Get your reading on Twin City!!

I hope to see you out and about.  Is there an event I need to know about?  Tell me, I’d love to know.
