Dashing Faves… Holiday Shopping in Winston-Salem Part 1

Posted by on December 15, 2014

I’m almost done with my holiday shopping (small yay!!).  For me buying local is the way to go.  I love hopping into a store and getting fantastic help when choosing a gift.  If you haven’t finished your shopping yet… you are in luck because I have found some amazing options for you at every price point for every person on your list.  The post became so long ( I found a lot of fun items ) I had to break it up so today I’m shopping at McCall’s and Rebecca and Co.

My first stop is McCall’s.  If you haven’t been into McCall’s lately, Sara-Peyton McCormick has renovated the shop and added so much more to love.  I have to admit working at Dovecote Decor has given me the awareness to really appreciate thoughtful vignettes of merchandise and beautiful storefront windows that entice the shopper to enter.  McCall’s window displays are as close to Bergdorf’s as Winston-Salem has ever had.  Forgive me for not having a picture of one but none of my pictures did the windows justice.  You’ll just have to go to see them yourself.

McCall’s  in Reynolda Village

The shop known for their lovely children’s wear, linens, and women’s fine lingerie still has all this and so much more.

Love the pillows and the plush stuffed animals for any little person on your list.

A few of my favorite items I found at McCall’s  you might not know would be there so let me show you!

DayNa Decker Chandels

Found at such shops as Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, you wonder what is a Chandel it is “The Chandel® is an evolution from ancient candle technology and is an innovation in modern ambiance. The Chandel® offers a symbiotic relationship between all of its artfully crafted components giving the user a multi-sensory experience.”  or …… there is a very cool wooden wick which makes a light crackling sound that people love and the fragrances are all to die for.  🙂

This would be a fabulous hostess gift or perfect for your friend that adores a candle.  You will be giving them something unique.

This vignette gives you so many gift options I’m just going to pick two of my favorites…

These Pagodas would be perfect for your design friend who is always adding to a bookshelf or a nightstand … they are so chic!

Perfect stocking stuffers would be the small calendars or measuring tape. Any gal I know would love them if Santa put them in her stocking.

McCalls was way too much fun and I found lots of items for many on your list this year!

My next stop was down the road to Rebecca and Co.

DSC_1112Always one of my favorite spots to find an unique item for my favorite gals on my list (and myself:))

Rebecca and Co. always has so many cool lines that no one else in Winston-Salem carries. I always find myself “needing” something when I’m there.

Lisa pointed me to a few gifts that are not to be missed on your list:

Sold all over the world and right here in Winston-Salem this French line can be found at hip shops like Kitson or Calypso St. Barth. Rebecca and Co. is right with the trend with Hipanema Bracelets.  Your college age girlie or older would love to find one of these bracelets underneath the tree this year.

If a person on your list is requesting cashmere look no further… The Autumn Cashmere line has bold colors and is softer than anything I’ve felt in a longtime.

A girl can never have too much jewelry and these pieces can also be found in some of the highest end department stores in the US. Why not buy them locally at Rebecca and Co. ? This is the perfect gift for the mellow gal in your life.

Wow!!!  So many fun options at Rebecca and Co. too!!  As you can see there is no reason AT ALL to hop on the internet or travel to another city because there are so many great options right here in Winston-Salem.  Tomorrow I will bring you more of my fave items from around Winston-Salem for everyone on Santa’s list!
